The Role of Automated Liquid Syrup Manufacturing Plants in Pharma

Ensuring Purity in Oral Liquids
The manufacturing of oral liquids, suspensions, and syrups requires strict adherence to hygiene protocols to prevent microbial contamination. Liquid Syrup Manufacturing Plants are designed as fully closed-loop systems, minimizing human intervention and ensuring the highest levels of purity.
The Plant Architecture
A standard automated plant consists of several interconnected modules:
- Sugar Melting Vessel: Equipped with high-speed stirrers and heating jackets to quickly dissolve sugar and prepare the base syrup.
- Pre-filtration System: Removes any impurities from the sugar syrup before it enters the main manufacturing vessel.
- Manufacturing Vessel: Where active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), flavors, and colors are added and blended under strict temperature control.
- Storage Vessel: Holds the final product prior to the filling line.
Zero-Contamination Processing
Weldcraft Fabrication utilizes sterile piping networks equipped with sanitary diaphragm valves and zero-dead-leg fittings. This ensures that no residual product can accumulate and breed bacteria. The entire system operates under a positive pressure of sterile air or nitrogen, preventing airborne contaminants from entering the vessels.
Automated Automation
Our plants are fully automated via SCADA systems, allowing for the precise metering of ingredients using load cells and flow meters. This eliminates manual weighing errors and guarantees that every single bottle of syrup meets the exact formulation specifications.
